Begin your career as a Nail Technician. Curriculum for this New York State Licensing program covers all phases of manicures, pedicures, artificial nail applications, nail art, and all other sanitation and sterilization procedures. After completion of 250 course hours, students are eligible to register for the New York State Licensing Exam.

This 75-hour New York State Licensed class will prepare you for a career in face and body waxing. The course will include state laws and professional requirements, physiology and histology of the skin, disorders and diseases, bacteriology, sanitation and disinfection and the removal of superfluous hair. In addition, students are required to complete a 25-hour internship. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to take the New York State written and practical exams and obtain the New York State specialty license in Waxing.

Do you need to prepare for the New York State Cosmetology Licensing exam? This course is designed for individuals who have completed the required 1,000 hours for licensing. All skills for the written and practical exam will be demonstrated. You will need to bring your transcript to the Adult Education office upon registration. A manikin and review text are included in the tuition. Instruction starts NIGHT ONE so you must have your supplies and uniform on the first day of class.

Need to make up cosmetology hours to qualify for the New York State licensing exam? We offer flexible make up options between October and June, plus an intensive summer session. Students must meet with the Cosmetology instructor to have formal transcripts evaluated before acceptance; an entrance exam may be required. Once accepted, you’ll be assigned the appropriate module(s) and schedule.
