Shielded Metal Arc Welding Preparation Course

Learn beginner to advanced arc welding procedures and practices as you prepare for the AWSD1.1 Qualification Standard 3G vertical, 4G overhead
or 6G pipe welding (6G includes ASME section 9 Qualification standard 6G option 6010 Root-Pass or GTAW Root-Pass). (Individuals must register for each qualification separately). Topics include machine set up, joint design, electrode selection, and polarity. Other topics include the three basis welding joints, as well and out-of-position welding. There will be an emphasis on structural welding for the American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 standard. For 3G vertical and 4G overhead: The welders performance qualification is a groove weld on 1” plate that meets the requirements of AWS D1.1.

The Welders performance qualification is a groove weld on 1” plate that meets the requirements of AWS D1.1. 20 classes
